Can't Sleep ~ Futsul

Ahhh.. Feels good to blog once again.

Today we had our "Inter-Department Futsul Match", something SMWP holds to build the bond of its family. I was included in the Marketing team & was thrilled to participate. Though overall we didn't won the game, I am satisfied to have scored 2 goals & assist another 2 without getting any serious injuries.

Alvin however wasn't as lucky. The Marketing Manager injured himself bad enough to have to forgo a seminar tomorrow. I will have to go in his stead. Problem is I've yet to pack, can't sleep and will have to leave Melaka by 6am. How am I ever going to survive?

Traumatized

The day started off well in the beginning~ slept in late (its a Sunday and practically my only day to catch up on some sleep), had a nice brunch and managed to finish up some work. Then, I decided to give Gloria a nice bath. I usually do this routine over the weekend but have missed the previous 2 weekends due to Andrew's accident and our trip back to Asahan.

While bathing my daughter, I usually like to give her a nice scrub and check for ticks or knots in her fur. As always, Gloria knowing that its about time to take a bath stands outside the house waiting for me to give a nice splash and begin our routine.

Things were going normally as it always does and i spot a knot behind Gloria's ear (which is something that is quite common in her case). So i picked up my scissors and was ready to free the knot when suddenly her head tilted backwards at the same time as I cut. I jerked...

She didn't react to the incident and for a moment I thought I'd missed and no harm done. But a gut feeling kept urging that I should check thoroughly and true enough, there was an inch cut behind Gloria's ear. It didn't look deep but being able to see the subcutaneous was enough to bring a sudden chill down my spine. My daughter was bleeding... I caused it and I don't know what to do. All I could do was to wrap a towel around her head and asked her to stand still while I ran inside the house yelling frantically that I'm bringing Gloria to the vet.

Mum ran out from her room and I briefly explained the situation to her. She took a look at Gloria and was assured me that she can take care of Gloria and that Gloria just needs a couple of stitches. When I heard "stitches", my heart sank. Gloria is my 1st daughter and I really didn't know what to do. Mum got geared up and prepared everything she needed for the case. She treated the situation just as she would in the hospital. Andrew and I held Gloria down and ensure there was minimum movement from her. Mum started by cleaning Gloria's wound with some antiseptic and proceed to stitching. I couldn't bear to watch.

After the whole ordeal, Gloria was let back to her crate to rest while I went out and spent over RM50 on treats for her. My hands were shaky and chills were still running up and down my spine. I just can't get that image of her lacerated wound out from my head. I feel so bad~
I'm so sorry Gloria.

Happy Mother's Day

Yo Peeps~ It's that time of the year again where we go back home and appreciate the 1 woman who stuck with us, never leaving our side through thick and thin. Yes, its Mother's Day which means its time for you to pack your bags and go home for the weekend to spend some time with your family, especially your mother.

Gracie sent me an email with a video clip which made me laughed my ass off. And yes, it reminded me of my beloved Mum lecturing me in my younger days (and sometimes still do now). Hahaha~!

So I am going to take this opportunity to with my Mum and all the Mothers out there;

Back To My Roots

today i got a chance to finally go back to asahan, a trip which was suppose to be made last weekend but due to some unforeseen circumstances (like andrew's accident), postponed it to this week.

it's always good to go back to the countryside (kampung), away from the buzz of the city life. there is just a sense of serenity that engulfs me whenever i'm here. no cares or worries... that's the life.

plus, i get a chance to spend some time with my Grandma. a fighter in the struggles of life who has been through a lot bringing up 8 children and 26 grandchildren. i always believe in spending time with our love ones now rather than waiting till they are gone and regret not doing so. life is too short to be taken forgranted.

so here's to you, Grandma!

WHAT A SHOCKING SURPRISE!!

There's a crazy buzz going around the entire factory today...

Enough of the suspense! Its time to let the cat out of the bag and let you know what all this hoohaa is about.

Danny...

For the 1st time...

After 3 years of working-life here at SMWP...

ATE SMWP CANTEEN FOOD~!!!

You can imagine the look on people's faces when he walked through the door, in a scenic slow-motion move and with the wind blowing in his hair (well, what's left of his hair anyway). Some people looked worried (as though they have just seen the last sign of Armageddon), some were rejoicing (as they see their Savior walked through the door) but many were writing a whole bunch of numbers in their personal piece of papers (probably going to buy 4D at the Big Horse).

After a brief time of awe and amazement and this sight, I managed to pull myself together and have a quick interview with Danny about his experience in the canteen.

Aaron: How does it feel like having to eat canteen food for the 1st time in 3 years?
Danny: Walao… full of mixed feelings!
I need some encouragement at 1st but what the hack, just food and I’m sure they won’t harm me 1!
So I give up my “virgin SMWP canteen meal” for the very first time today.

Aaron: How did you find the food?
Danny: Errr… OK but BLOODY expensive la man!

Aaron: Is there anything you would like to say to those who have yet to try our food here in SMWP?
Danny: Don’t try! Go far far makan!!!

cheers mate!
